An AI stem splitter, sometimes called a stem separator, takes a finished song and separates it into parts: vocals, drums, bass, instrumental, guitar, piano, and other stems. Producers use those stems to remix tracks, study arrangements, make DJ edits, practice parts, or sample cleaner material.
How do I split a song into stems online?
Upload your audio, choose 2-stem, 4-stem, or 6-stem separation, then create a free account when you are ready to process. After the split finishes, download the stems as WAV or MP3.
Is the 44Stems stem splitter free?
Yes. You can open the page, choose a file, and pick stem settings before signup. The actual AI processing needs an account because it uses GPU time. Free accounts include 10 processing minutes/month.
Can I split vocals, drums, bass, and instruments?
Yes. You can start with 2-stem separation for vocals and instrumental, 4-stem separation for vocals, drums, bass, and other, or 6-stem separation for vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other.
What happens to my audio files?
Your music stays yours. 44Stems does not use uploaded audio to train AI models, and files are automatically deleted after 30 days.
What results should I expect from AI stem separation?
AI stem separation works best on clean studio mixes. Dense masters, heavy reverb, live recordings, and low-quality MP3s can leave bleed or artifacts. Always check the result before using it in a final release.
